Week 2 Day 1
KT Rolster looked to pick up their first series win against King-Zone DragonX, as they managed to nearly break into the Nexus of their opponents, but King-Zone DragonX fired back with a masterful performance from their famous marksman, coming back to pick up an unlikely win. The second map was much easier for once a championship-winning organization, as they stormed through the KT Rolster’s base to win their first match this year.
In a battle of leaders, Hanwha Life Esports had a massive lead and looked to find a way to break into the base, but Griffin, similarly to the last year, found one miraculous team fight after another, turning the deficit into a win in a blink of an eye. The second game was much more convincing for Griffin, who took a series win and kept their perfect score in check, staying on top of the table in LCK Spring 2019.
Week 2 Day 2
SK Telecom T1 looked convincing to start the set against SANDBOX Gaming, but the league newcomers turned up the heat in the following maps, not only equalizing the score but taking the entire series, keeping themselves at the very top of the LCK Spring despite dropping their first map on the elite level.
Gen.G and Afreeca Freecs went back and forth, with the latter showcasing a variety of very different picks and strategies, but in the end, it all went into the last map. The former had a decent chance of winning the series multiple times, but it was Afreeca Freecs, who survived to take the set, moving up in the scoreboard and leaving Gen.G without a series win in LCK Spring for now.
Week 2 Day 3
Jin Air Green Wings looked in control and poised to win their first map during the new LCK season, but KT Rolster found multiple skirmishes in a row, building themselves back into the game and eventually, winning it. The second map was much more convincing for the league’s reigning champions, who have finally picked up their first series victory this season.
In a battle of the hottest teams in the league, DAMWON Gaming faced off against Griffin in a rematch of the KeSPA Cup semifinals, but in the end, it was all the same story. Griffin was faster, more convincing and left DAMWON Gaming no chance, as the league favorites kept their losses at zero, while the newcomers have suffered their first loss in LCK.
Week 2 Day 4
Afreeca Freecs continued to impress with the stuff they were trying to play, but King-Zone DragonX were not too excited about that, as they managed to find perfect team fights for their star ad carry to get themselves through the first map. The second map was all about King-Zone DragonX, however, who caught a yet another Afreeca Freecs’s tricky composition off-guard, winning their second series this week to solidify themselves in the middle of the table.
SANDBOX Gaming aimed to keep their streak up, but Hanwha Life Esports did not want to give them everything for free, so the league newcomers had to fight for it. Their synergy in the team fights gave SANDBOX Gaming all the objectives and while Hanwha Life Esports attempted to switch their roster and find a better result, it was all for nothing, as the upstarts won a yet another match in a row, keeping themselves at the very top of the league.
Week 2 Day 5
In a rematch of the KeSPA Cup 2018 quarterfinals, SK Telecom T1 and DAMWON Gaming faced off against each other, trying to recover after earlier losses this week. SKT T1 started out strong for a yet another time this season, but DAMWON Gaming fought back to equalize the score and force the decider. In the end, however, it was all about the three-time World Championship winning organization, as SK Telecom T1 ran away with the final map, keeping themselves around the top of the league.
Gen.G looked convincing in game one but did not manage to close the second map properly, as Jin Air Green Wings found enough openings for themselves, picking up one neutral objective after another and finally taking their first map win this season. The third map, however, went the way of Gen.G, who picked up their first series victory in the LCK Spring 2019, moving slightly up in the standings before the end of the second week of the regular season.
